This is kinda like earning a BS degree. I’m a Microsoft Certified Network Systems Engineer. Not many people know this about me. It’s quite a feet. Not easy. I remember my peers saying there is no way you can earn it in 6 months. I said GAME On. I did it. That’s right. I did and it felt so good so many years ago.

Today I felt good about completing my first college course after returning back to the college scene. I’m one course closer to finishing that BS degree.

Come August I’ll be celebrating with a backyard BBQ and a degree In hand.

Don’t ever give up. Sure today the piece of paper means something so different from what it would have 25 years ago. If anything it’s that you can do anything you put your mind to. Anything.

I don’t know about you but crows have always intrigued me. They are freakishly large and smart.

September class enrollment has begun!! So many yum

September class enrollment has begun!! So many yummy recipes! I'm starting with the recipes that was the very first recipe I memorized, penne pasta with Italian sausage, cream, parm cheese and DANG is it good!

Then an easy and packed with flavor chicken recipe with tomatoes and/or potatoes topped with feta, pine nuts and sundried tomatoes - it's one that will surprise you how good it is!

A savory mushroom galette - that even if you mess it up, like I did yesterday its still yummy - not many recipes can claim that!! LOL Its so good!

My ricotta berry cake - hands down you'll want to make this on the weekly - it's great for coffee with friends, dessert, or even a mid night snack.

And then the bonus recipe, cherry oat bars - a winner all around!!!

This week has been rough. Let me share. Being a ph

This week has been rough. Let me share. Being a photographer has so many many joys. I meet the most wonderful people. Get to be part of memories that last lifetimes. Part of that joy is also sadness. When I get the emails and texts for photos of loved ones who’ve passed my heart breaks. I’ve gotten to share some of the most happy moments with these wonderful ones. And do not get me wrong it’s an honor to have captured a moment so real that someone wants to share it at someone’s memorial service. It’s a true honor. But just this week alone 4 dear ones have passed away. My heart breaks for the families.
I didn’t originally share this photo of my own family of an impromptu beach trip at the beginning of the month but as I squeeze them a little tighter tonight, reminded that we are not promised tomorrow I’m thankful for this photo. I’m thankful I got in the photo instead of just taking it of my kids. And I’m thankful for all the photos I’ve captured over the last 20 years of photography and capturing my dear friends and loved ones. Some people call them clients but there are very few clients that I don’t call my friends. I feel truly blessed for that. And my heart breaks tonight for all the loss in the last short week. My prayers are with you dear loved ones. Xoxoxoxoxo
